Telkomtelstra Supports Digital Workplace Implementation with Office 365 Products

JAKARTA, May 8, 2018 - The rapid development of digital technology has changed the business landscape dynamically. Until the workplace was not spared from changes in digital technology. Moreover, the millennials workforce which in 2020 will dominate the workforce prioritizes the digital workplace to support its productivity.

With the shifting behavior of millennials more dynamic today, in reality there are still many companies that have not taken a step forward despite being aware of the need to provide a more flexible work environment. Ernest Hutagalung, Chief Financial Officer of Telkomtelstra, explained that the organization and work culture will shift and the digital workplace cannot be avoided. In general, digital workplace can make business strategies more effective and make employee engagement through a computing environment more like a consumer.

"Companies today, especially the management lineup, should be ready to cope with anything that can hinder digital collaboration. Thus, digital workplace can present the ability to adapt to various business dynamics to win the competition. This adaptability can be the speed and agility in communicating, collaborating, and coordinating from each workforce to improve the company's business performance," he said in remarks at the 'Future Workplace in Digital Era' event hosted by Telkomtelstra in collaboration with IDC, Tuesday (8/5).

IDC data predicts that more than 50% of workers in Asia Pacific, including Indonesia, will be populated by millennials, often linked as digital-native to everyday life. Based on this, IDC is looking ahead to the mobile-first and cloud-enabled environment will be the driving force of the environment in the future.

Mevira Munindra, Head of Consulting Department of IDC Indonesia, explained that cloud technology as one of the foundations that can support the implementation of digital workplace. Based on research from IDC, business collaboration and business productivity applications are the most dominant use today in cloud implementation. "Almost 40% of the workload for collaboration and business integration has already begun with the cloud," Mevira said.

Indonesian companies that have switched to cloud solutions largely do so to minimize the company's operating costs and gain flexibility in adopting the latest technology for business optimization without having to invest heavily in purchasing new hardware. Applications from the cloud alone allow companies to collaborate easily anywhere and anytime in real time.

According to Ernest, through cloud applications such as office 365 provided by Telkomtelstra, the company no longer have to provide hardware with a large cost to achieve a work environment that requires flexibility.
